Parish Yove
DESCRIPTION
The word comes from the name Yove of the tree of the area giving good boards.
Yove is one of 12 parishes in the diocese of Cyangugu, founded on 22/08/2004, detached from the Parish Nyamasheke because it was very remote and difficult to use.
LOCATION
The Parish is Yove is 80 km from the episcopal see:
- North East of the natural forest (currently Nyungwe National Park).
- In the North, we Hanika the Parish;
- In the West, we Nyamasheke Parish;
- In the South, we have the Parish Nyabitimbo.
It is a mountainous, landlocked at all: no good road, no electricity, no telephone (telephone network or other connection). At the Parish, there is still water but the population has no drinking water.
Yove is a historically disadvantaged region for several years. It is made by two administrative areas and Rangiroa CYATO Nyamasheke District in Western Province of Rwanda. It has population of 40,000 inhabitants, 7,000 are Catholics.
SOCIAL STRUCTURE
As social structures: there are two clinics in the region without infrastructure, without qualified staff and no medical equipment. The population is exposed to all kinds of diseases due to lack of care information.
Life is difficult in all areas, no market, no shop, means of transport. The supply is step by step (per capita) over a distance of 60 km round trip, or 10 hours on foot.
RELIGION
Parish Yove a 7000 Catholic populations, a population of over 40,000 inhabitants or less. The rest are members of other faiths including the Methodists, Anglicans, Baptists, Pentecostals and Adventists. It has 6 branches and 40 basic ecclesial communities.
EDUCATION
In the area of this parish, there are: 1-conventioned Methodist Secondary School with full cycle: ES RANGIROA, 3 School Groups (Primary and Secondary grouped) with one of the parish, and six elementary schools, 5 of which are Catholic. All these schools are adobe bricks or clay, incomplete and insufficient, without some school equipment and teachers.
SOCIAL LIFE
The population of the said parish is rural agriculture: bananas, beans, husbands,
cassava, ... but due to terrain, erosion is devastating. There is also the breeding of cattle for manure and money.
The hope of life is 45 years.

- A Catechumenate

PROJECTS
Parish has Yove
- an improved breed of cow, but that does not give milk: to farmer;
- 10 rabbits that do not;
- Projects under banana cultivation.
When will the means, we will:
- A shop for basic necessities cheaper;
- A paper: school supplies and office for Schools and Areas, plus a photocopier and a computer (for Secretariat public)
- A mill for corn and cassava
- A cow's milk
- A chicken coop, goat milk.
